Launch of Accepting Responsibility
Accepting Responsibility is a new pilot program to promote Academic Integrity. In Spring 2024, there is room for a limited number of courses in the pilot. Faculty are invited to submit an application form if they would like to participate.
With Accepting Responsibility, students who commit small, first-time offenses may be given an opportunity to attend a workshop on values, habits, and decision making. In return for their participation at the workshop, the grade penalty the student receives will be limited, and the event will not be reported by Cornell to external entities. The student and their instructor are both spared the burden of an Academic Integrity hearing process. For more information, see these resources for faculty and for students.
This pilot is sponsored by the Bowers College of Computing and Information Science and the Office of the Vice Provost for Undergraduate Education. Contact us if you have any questions.
